She was also awarded distinctions for both her Doctorate Dissertation and her MSc in Medical Research Methodology, detailing electron microscopy studies for cataract and pseudoexfoliation syndrome. The results of her research were published and presented in international medical journals and congresses.
Throughout her career, she has performed numerous eyelid and lacrimal operations, including upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, brow lift, entropion, ectropion and ptosis repairs, skin cancer excisions and reconstructions with flaps and grafts as well as endonasal DCRs. Furthermore, she is highly experienced with Botox, intradermal filler injections and management of their complications.
Her surgical skills reflect her artistic nature. As a talented musician with awards in accordion, violin and piano, Dr Sorkou approaches Oculoplastic Surgery and Eyelid Rejuvenation as an art form. She takes into consideration symmetry and harmony when planning and executing surgical procedures, aiming for the best possible outcomes and for natural results.
