Christina Polyzou is a licensed psychologist, graduate from the University of Greenwich. She holds two Master’s degrees from King’s College London, on Health Psychology and on Developmental Psychology & Psychopathology. She is specialized in perinatal psychology and behavioural genetics, and she further continues her training in the whole spectrum of women’s mental health, such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder and menopause. In addition, she offers therapy to clients who are dealing with a range of other difficulties, such as: • Increased stress and anxiety • Panic attacks • Depression • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) • High self-criticism • Low self-esteem • Difficulties with managing everyday life etc. During her placement at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, she gained experience in the application and evaluation of various psychotherapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), modalities for which she further continued her training. Each person is unique, and so are their needs. With that under consideration, therapist and client work together to formulate the appropriate therapeutic plan that would be suitable to the client’s needs and goals.
