Welcome to my corner of support and understanding. I'm Sara Pliacha, a licensed Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges through a compassionate and evidence-based approach. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Psychology, both earned from Hellenic American University. This academic foundation has equipped me with a solid understanding of the complexities of the human mind. With over two years of experience, I've served as an Associate Clinical Psychologist, working in private practice as well as an associate counselor at the university counseling center. During my BSc, I collaborated with NGOs, particularly the Ecumenical Refugee Program (ECRP), where I actively engaged with social workers to assist Refugees and Migrants in obtaining asylum and accessing counseling services. Additionally, I worked closely with Melissa, an NGO dedicated to supporting and empowering migrant and refugee women in Greece. These experiences served as the foundation for my dedication to promoting mental well-being and aiding individuals in their journey toward psychological health As a Greek American, my work is influenced by a diverse cultural background. I take pride in embracing an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment plans that suit the unique needs of each individual. I've had the privilege of contributing to the Hellenic American Education Center (HAEC) Counseling Centre and Roots Wellness Center, providing psychotherapy and counseling services focusing on holistic well-being. This setting has been instrumental in broadening my understanding and refining my skills in Cognitive-behavioral Therapy as well as integrating skills from other schools of psychotherapy. My passion lies in assisting individuals dealing with Mood Disorders, Trauma, and Grief. I believe in fostering a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore their emotions and work toward positive change.
