Αναλόγως που γινέται η εξέταση. Συνήθως χορηγείται απλή μέθη αλλλά κάποιοι γαστρεντερολογοι παρεχουν δυνατότητα αναισθησιολόγου και πιο βαθιά νάρκωσης

Αναλόγως που θα κάνετε την εξέταση αλλά,ει και το είδος της μέθης που χρησιμοποιείται και κυμαίνεται από απλή ζαλάδα μέχρι κανονικό ύπνο.

Εφόσον θελήσει ο ασθενής, του παρέχεται ενδοφλέβια ήπια καταστολή ("μέθη") με 1 ή 2 φάρμακα που μπορεί να προκαλέσει "ζαλάδα" ή ύπνο (εξαρτάται από το φάρμακο ή/και την δόση).
