Dr Papageorgiou serves as a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist both at the Lister Hospital in East & North Hertfordshire and at the St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London.Having trained in prestigious centres in Greece, Germany and United Kingdom (London), Dr Papageorgiou is highly experienced in all areas of cardiology with a specialist interest in heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias) and heart failure (pump failure). He also sees patients with palpitations, skipped beats, chest pains, shortness of breath, dizzy spells/blackouts and high blood pressure.He is a highly accomplished cardiologist with extensive expertise in clinical practice, research, and academia. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and (PhD) degrees at Athens University Medical School in Greece, followed by specialized training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology in prestigious centres such as the Heart Hospital/UCLH and the St. Bartholomew's Hospital.By performing a wide range of cardiac interventions and procedures, Dr Papageorgiou aims to improve patients' quality of life. He performs catheter ablation procedures for heart rhythm disorders and implants simple and complex cardiac devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation devices.He holds an Honorary Associate Professorship at the University College London (UCL), contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular science and education. He has published >200 papers and he has >100 presentations in international conferences. He has made significant contributions to the understanding and management of cardiovascular diseases.
