Ο Νικόπουλος Χρήστος είναι καρδιολόγος και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό γραφείο στα Φάρσαλα από το 2004, ενώ παράλληλα διατελεί επιστημονικός συνεργάτης στην καρδιοχειρουργική κλινική Heart-Thorax του ΙΑΣΩ Θεσσαλίας. Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή Αθηνών.Κατά τη φοίτησή του διετέλεσε για ένα χρόνο εσωτερικός βοηθός στην έδρα της ανατομίας, όπου συμμετείχε στην εκπαίδευση των δευτεροετών φοιτητών στο συγκεκριμένο μάθημα. Διετέλεσε επίσης για 3 έτη εσωτερικός βοηθός στην έδρα της φυσιολογίας υπό τον καθηγητή Π.Κ. Μπεχράκη με κύριο αντικείμενο την έρευνα στο συγκεκριμένο τομέα. Ειδικεύτηκε στην καρδιολογία στο Γενικό και στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο Λάρισας καθώς και στο νοσοκομείο ΑΧΕΠΑ της Θεσσαλονίκης. Το 2010 μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στις νεότερες τεχνικές υπερήχων καρδιάς στο νοσοκομείο των Ιωαννίνων και συγκεκριμένα στο δυναμικό υπερηχογράφημα καρδιάς (stress echo) και έλαβε την άδεια εκτέλεσης της εξέτασης από το ΚΕΣΥ, κατόπιν εξετάσεων. Το 2012 έλαβε πιστοποίηση ισχύος 5 ετών στο διαθωρακικό υπερηχογράφημα καρδιάς σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο, από την Ευρωπαϊκή Καρδιολογική Εταιρία, κατόπιν εξετάσεων θεωρητικής και πρακτικής ικανότητας. Το 2017 ανανέωσε την πιστοποίηση, έως το 2022, μετά από νέα κρίση. Εκπαιδεύτηκε και έλαβε master στο triplex αγγείων το 2016 στα πλαίσια διακρατικού μεταπτυχιακού της Ιατρικής Σχολής Λάρισας σε συνεργασία με την Ιατρική σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου της Γένοβας. Ο ιατρός συμμετείχε σε μεγάλο αριθμό διεθνών και ελληνικών συνεδρίων και έχει δημοσιεύσεις σε ξένα και ελληνικά ιατρικά περιοδικά.
