Καλησπέρα . Ο πεθερός μου πάσχει από σχιζοφρένεια. Υπάρχει πιθανότητα να κληρονομήσουν τα παιδιά μου την ασθένεια ;

Υπάρχει μικρή πιθανότητα, ελαφρώς μεγαλύτερη από τον γενικό πληθυσμό αλλά όχι μεγάλη. Σημασία έχει επίσης εάν υπάρχουν και άλλα πάσχοντα μέλη στην οικογένεια- εάν είναι πολλά οι πιθανότητες αυξάνονται. Επιπλέον το περιβάλλον στο οποίο μεγαλώνουν τα παιδιά παίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στο εάν και πως θα εκδηλωθεί μία ψυχική νόσος - εφόσον όντως υπάρχει.
