Η ενδοφθάλμια πίεση μπορεί να είναι αυξημένη για διάφορους λόγους όπως μη ικανοποιητική απόκριση σε αντιγλαυκωματικές σταγόνες ή σε περίπτωση προηγούμενης αντιγλαυκωματικής επέμβασης λόγω δυσλειτουργίας αυτής.
