Θεωρητικά κάθε παιδί που πηγαίνει στο σχολείο θα ήταν καλό να εμβολιαστεί. Δεν ειναι αργά γιατί και στην προφηβεια και εφηβεία είναι συχνότερη σε σχέση με άλλες ηλικίες η νόσηση και η μετάδοση.

Η νόσος είναι πολύ σπάνια αλλά πολύ επικίνδυνη. Σε οποιαδήποτε ηλικία υπάρχει χρησιμότητα να γίνει. Να σημειωθεί ότι μεγαλύτερος κίνδυνος υπάρχει στα βρέφη και στους εφήβους μετά τα 16 έτη.
